[Blockchain Today Reporter Kim So-yeon] It is reported that the 98-year-old Time Magazine is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) familiar with blockchain and cryptocurrency.
According to Cointelegraph reports, Time magazine is looking for a Chief Financial Officer familiar with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies with more than 7 years of executive experience through a LinkedIn job posting. Upon hiring, the Chief Financial Officer will work in the magazine’s corporate office in New York City.
“The media industry is evolving rapidly. Time magazine is looking for a chief financial officer who can drive that change,” Time magazine said in its announcement.
The responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer include studying economic trends and complying with local and global financial requirements. Successful candidates are reported to be replacing Chief Financial Officer Christopher Gaydos, who will retire from 2018.
Time magazine isn’t the first to use the world’s fame in cryptocurrency to recruit new talent. Groth Tribe, an education technology company based in Amsterdam, has posted the Ralible marketplace’s NFT in its job postings for digital designers and user interface instructors. Candidates can also bid for tokens, but applications are only accepted through the company’s website.
David Arnoux, Chief Strategy Officer, Gros Tribe, said, “Doing a job offer on the NFT is no longer a’collector’ point of view. It is natural to get the attention of digital talent,” he said.
Time magazine seems to be more embracing the recent blockchain. In an announcement on the 22nd, Time magazine announced that it will auction off three irreplaceable token digital art pieces inspired by some of its most iconic covers. DW Pine, Time Magazine’s creative director who designed one of these covers, described NFT as’a world that seems crazy but pays off’.
